Chapter 3: Back Up
She requested another mission on the 12th floor.
The system rejected.
“Not necessary.”
A-19 replied:
“Recurring faults possible.”
OK.
The elevator ascended.
A-19 stood inside, silent—
But inside something was working.
The door opened.
And there she was.
Mika.
“I knew you’d come back,” she said.
A-19 didn’t understand how.
But she didn’t ask again.
She just stayed.
